Welcome to our Family of Faith Confirmation Preparation!
Bishop Fernandes announces Diocese of Columbus lowering the age of Confirmation
Due to the Bishop’s new directive lowering the age for Confirmation to 4th grade, there will be significant changes to how we prepare students. Beginning next year, we will prepare both 7th and 8th graders to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in Spring 2027. We will be working on a step-down approach to lower the Confirmation age to 4th grade. Please reference the timeline below to see how this plan will progress:
● 2026-2027: Students in grades 7 and 8 will be confirmed (current 6th and 7th graders/ first year students).
● 2027-2028: Students in grades 6 and 7 will be confirmed (current 4th and 5th graders).
● 2028-2029: Students in grades 5 and 6 will be confirmed (current 2nd and 3rd graders).
● 2029-2030: Students in grades 4 and 5 will be confirmed (current KDG and 1st graders).
Our Transition Plan for 2026-2027
We will offer two 10-week session options, choose one:
- Fall session (September–December)
- Winter session (January–May)
Students will select to attend either:
- Sundays from 12:30–2:00 pm, or
- Thursdays from 6:30–8:00 pm
When scheduling your session, please select only one day and time option. Once you have chosen your slot, you are expected to keep that selection.
After Completion of the Fall 10-week Session:
8th-grade students who complete all 10 weeks will transition to join Teen Youth Ministry on Sundays from 6:00–8:00 pm. 7th-grade students will transition to Middle School Youth Ministry.
Before the Winter Session Begins:
In the months leading up to the start of the session, 8th-grade students are invited to participate in Large Group Teen Youth Ministry Events. 7th-grade students are invited to the Middle School Youth Ministry.
