First Communion Preparation Ministry (Seek/Root & Mend/Nourish)
When: Sundays, 10:15–11:15 AM or Tuesdays, 6:30–7:30 pm
Volunteer Roles:
- Parent Small Group Facilitators – Lead meaningful faith-sharing discussions with parents
- Children’s Activity Facilitators – Support hands-on learning for young children
Community Night (Grades 1–4)
When: Sept 30, Oct 28, Jan 27, Feb 24, May 12 | Family Mass at 6:00 pm , followed by pizza & activities 6:30–7:30 pm
Volunteer Roles:
- Activity Support – Help with crafts, service projects, and games
- Knowledge Station Helpers – Guide children through interactive prayer and faith stations
Middle School Ministry (Grades 5–6)
When: 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month, 3:00–4:30 pm
Volunteer Roles:
- Program Support – Assist with large group activities and small group sessions
- Youth Group Coordination Support – Help engage and encourage middle school youth
Confirmation Preparation Ministry
When: 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month, 3:00–4:30 pm
Volunteer Roles:
- Small Group Facilitators – Lead Confirmation discussions using Chosen (Ascension Press)
- Retreat Support – Help during the one-day retreat in October (optional)
High School Youth Group
When: Every Sunday, 6:00–8:00 pm
Volunteer Roles:
- Program Support – Assist with games, activities, and faith-based discussions
- Small Group Facilitators – Lead conversations that build community and deepen faith
Marriage & Family Life Ministry
When: Various dates throughout the year
Volunteer Roles:
- Marriage Mentors – Walk with engaged couples as they prepare for marriage
- Family of Faith Juniors – Help with activities for our youngest participants
- Planning & Hospitality Team – Support event planning and welcome attendees
- Life Group Facilitators – Lead or co-lead small groups for married couples or families
Volunteer Requirements
To serve, volunteers must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Complete a BCI/FBI background check
- Attend the Protecting God’s Children (PGC) training
- Submit the SJN Volunteer Application
Free Background Checks & "Protecting God’s Children" Course at SJN
Join us at St. John Neumann (SJN) for free Background Checks and the Protecting God’s Children course on the following dates:
- Monday, June 24
- Monday, July 29
Schedule:
- Background Checks: 4:00 – 7:00 pm
- Protecting God’s Children Course: 6:00 – 9:00 pm
