Catholic Schools Tuition Grant

Parish Grants are available to help fund Catholic education

A Catholic education is more within reach than ever before! Click the button below to learn more about Universal EdChoice and what it means for your child's Catholic education.

We are blessed that you have chosen to join with us in your family’s faith journey as together we live out our parish mission to bring people to a transformative encounter with Jesus Christ. The pathway to Discipleship at St. John Neumann is Life Groups in which we Connect, Pray, Study, and Serve.

Each family is a Life Group. Trends show that parents, who continue to develop their own faith as adults, and model faith to their children, are more likely to raise children who keep practicing their faith as adults.

Therefore, parents can expect St. John Neumann Parish to offer a variety of opportunities for connection, prayer, study and service to develop their own faith in order to pass the faith to their children. Likewise, the parish expects parents to be invested and involved in their own faith development in order to receive a grant from our parishioners to help support their children’s education while attending a Catholic school. Filling the expectations of the grant ensures we are good stewards in the support of families who are truly invested in developing their faith and perpetuating it.

Parish Grants are available to help fund Catholic education for students in kindergarten through high school, based on the school they are attending, and are bestowed on the basis of meeting the following expectations:

  • Catholic Parents are living their Catholic Faith by attending weekly Mass, as well as engaging in daily prayer including Adoration;
  • Parents growing in their Catholic/Christian Faith by participating in Life Groups or other on-going study to grow in their knowledge and relationship of God and His church;
  • The family is serving others in the mission of the Church;
  • The family is a registered and participating member of St. John Neumann, pledging and contributing a gift to the annual offertory program in an identifiable way (on-line giving through WeShare, envelope, check).

A family is acknowledged as a “Participating Member” based upon these expectations. If there are any hardships in meeting these expectations, please contact the parish business manager, development director or pastor. Exceptions can be made in situations where there is need.

We ask that the family completes this Tuition Grant Agreement Form each year. If a current Offertory Commitment Card is not on file, one must be turned in with the completed agreement. This allows the parish the benefit of including the amount of the grant into its projected budget for the coming fiscal year, starting July 1. If the family does not return this form with an Offertory Commitment form for budget inclusion, they may not be able to receive support, since there will be no amount budgeted for them. Prior to tuition being paid by the parish; if the parents do not meet the expectations; the parents and the school will be notified that the family will be paying the full per pupil cost.

Calendar of Dates

March 1 – Tuition Grant Agreement Form available

May 1 – Tuition Grant Agreement Form due to parish office with the School Agreement Form (if required by school)

October – Confirmation of Participating Member, completed form on file before parish paying Tuition Grant to the school

Diocesan guidelines recognize the right of a parish with a school to receive the full per pupil cost for educating a non-parishioner in its school. A tuition grant agreement will need to be signed before the parish can offer any grant. Diocesan Policy 3240: “Prior to enrolling a child from another parish, the receiving school must obtain a written agreement regarding grant from the sending parish. It is the responsibility of the parents to obtain this information.”

If you have not yet signed a tuition grant agreement for this coming school year please contact the Parish Office. Copies of the Tuition Parish Grant Form are available at the Parish Office or can be downloaded and printed using the link below.
