Good Samaritan Ministry

To share the blessings of faith to provide funds for outreach and discipleship programs

The Good Samaritan Ministry (GSM)

GSM facilitates volunteerism and makes funds available for a wide array of services to be responsive to the many needs that exist within our community and outside. We assist in helping with specific financial or material needs. We review grant requests monthly to confirm the need, vote, and disburse funds once approved.

Our Mission

To engage the parishioners of St. John Neuman to share the blessings of their faith by providing funds for outreach and discipleship programs and to serve the greatest number of individuals in the most effective way on a local, national, and international basis.

Our Focus

  • Oversee funds for the outreach to the poor and evangelization/spiritual growth activities.
  • Work closely with St. Vincent DePaul Society to coordinate funding across parish programs to avoid duplicative assistance to the poor, outreach, and discipleship activities. Serve as a clearing house of information about available programs and facilitate volunteer assignments and monetary donations.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of fundraisers and material assistance drives; these special drives are noted on the Stewardship page in our weekly bulletins.
