Family Promise

Provide shelter, meals and supportive services to homeless families

Our parish will be providing meals, groceries, and supplies for the families at the Promise House the week of April 7-13, 2024. Tuesday is pizza night, a volunteer is needed to provide side dishes and a $5 tip for the pizza driver by 5:15 pm. The meals for the remaining nights can be delivered between 5:15-5:45 pm, earlier is OK too. Volunteers can plate the portions individually or family style. Please contact me if you need any containers.

There are slots for supplies needed at the house on the signup link. You can drop these items at the church or call me to make other arrangements. The house is located at 39 N. Washington St. in Delaware, OH.

Family Promise of Delaware County is one of the ministries supported by our St. Vincent de Paul Society here at St. John Neumann. Family Promise is a national non-profit organization created in 2009 to provide shelter, meals and supportive services to homeless families so that they can reach their goals of housing, employment and self-sufficiency. Approximately four times a year, SJN volunteers provide meals and overnight hosts for one week at the home in Delaware. This is a great opportunity for families to provide service together, especially because many of the clients also have young children. For more information on how you can help during St. John Neumann's hosting weeks, contact Marcia Sepion.

In addition to volunteer opportunities, monetary contributions are always welcome to purchase milk, fruit, snacks and lunch items for these families during our week of service. Prayers are also always needed.
