Liturgical and Engagement Coordinator

SUMMARY: Responsible for facilitating the worship life of the parish community by coordinating quality liturgical experiences, and cultivating engagement in our parish community


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Develop and coordinate opportunities that cultivate community among all parishioners and encourage volunteer participation in church activities

• Actively engage with parishioners to enhance involvement and support parish mission with a focus on new parishioners and new Catholics

• Create, implement, and manage a strategic plan to increase volunteerism across all parish functions.

• Recruit, inspire, and train volunteers to support parish liturgies, programs, and events

• Collaborate with Communication manager to assist in engagement function

• Coordinate Liturgical volunteers including scheduling and training for servers, Masters of Ceremonies, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Greeters, and Sacristans with approval of Pastor

• Coordinate special liturgies and sacramental occasions such as Feast Days, Solemnities Liturgical seasons, processions, and sacraments of initiation. Distribute Liturgical Planning Worksheet for input and guidance on Mass/Solemnity with approval from Pastor

• Coordinate Liturgical Environment Ministry volunteers that aid with the environment at Mass, especially Solemnities and Feast Days

• Occasionally attend daily and weekend Masses, Feast Days and Solemnities to observe volunteer ministers and the flow of the liturgy

• Meet with the pastor on a regular basis to get his feedback on the liturgy

• Administer and implement changes as they relate to the Roman Missal, Divine Worship Office, and Pastor’s decisions

• Schedule and train Daily Mass volunteers, including sacristans

• Coordinate orders with the Office manager for all liturgical supplies needed

• Serve as point of contact for funeral services working with local funeral homes and families to plan and coordinate liturgies

• Duties as assigned by the Pastor


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Practicing and active member of the Catholic Church

• Experience in recruiting and organizing volunteer teams

• Familiarity with parish Life

• Management and speaking experience


HOURS AND COMPENSATION:

• Full-time exempt position

• Evening and Weekend hours will be expected and sometimes required

• Benefits eligible, Compensation commensurate with experience
